Hotel Rangá

O Hotel Rangá é um hotel-resort 4 estrelas localizado a mais ou menos 90 quilomêtros de Reykjavík. Apesar de tão perto da capital, esse hotel de luxo está no meio do nada, como eles mesmos dizem, o que faz sua localização ser ótima. São várias as atrações que se pode visitar estando hospedado por lá, tudo depende do grau de animação e aventura que se quer ter. Um outro fator importante é a época do ano e o clima. Durante o verão dá para visitar muitos lugares, pegar estradas menores e fazer várias atividades ao ar livre. Já no inverno, a locomoção é um pouco mais difícil, os cenários se transforam e mesmo assim, continuam impressionantes.

Um outro grande diferencial do Hotel Rangá é sua ótima posição geográfica para ver a Aurora Boreal. As famosas luzes do norte podem ser vistas claramente do estacionamento do hotel, sem nenhuma outra casa ou cidade por perto o lugar fica completamente escuro. E nem precisa se preocupar, na recepção é só se incluir na lista para ser acordado se a Aurora chegar. Uma pena que nosso telefone não tocou nos dois dias que estivemos por lá.

Para começar o dia, um café da manhã delicioso com várias frutas, pães e sucos. Se estiver na dúvida quanto ao roteiro, peça para Ingi, o simpático gerente, ou para os funcionários da recepção, eles com certeza terão ótimas dicas de passeio.

O ambiente aconchegante do hotel faz qualquer um descansar depois de longos dias de atividades ao ar livre. Para quem realmente quer aproveitar, as jacuzzis com água bem quente do lado de fora são a melhor opção para relaxar, principalmente quando as temperaturas estão muito baixas! Depois é só pedir um vinho (da ótima seleção) e um belo jantar - o restaurante usa ingredientes locais de acordo com a estação do ano e oferece uma mistura de culinária nórdica com mediterrânea.

Com estrutura para receber amigos, casais e até grandes grupos de turistas, o hotel possui 45 excelentes quartos, além de 7 suítes de luxo, cada uma representando um continente. Estas possuem além de uma ótima vista, jacuzzi, decoração temática e até cheiro de acordo com o continente explorado.

Se acordar com vontade de relaxar e/ou nem sair para nenhum passeio, não exite em passar o dia sem fazer nada por lá - e foi o que fizemos - lendo um livro ou conversando com vista para o rio Rangá-Leste (o maior fornecedor de salmão do país!).

Hotel Rangá is a 4 star resort hotel located about 90 km from Reykjavík. Although so near the capital, this luxury hotel is in the middle of nowhere, as they say themselves, which makes its location great. There are many attractions you can visit while staying there, it all depends on how much fun and adventure you want to have. Another important factor is the season and the weather. During the summer you can visit many places, drive through smaller roads and do various outdoor activities. In the winter, driving is a little harder, and the scenery is transformed but yet still impressive!

Another great differential about Hotel Rangá is its great geographical location to see the Aurora Borealis. The famous northern lights can be seen clearly from the hotel parking lot - there is no other houses or towns around, making the place completely dark. And you don't have to worry, you just have include your name in the list to be woken up if the Aurora arrives. Unfortunately, our phone did not ring during our nights there.

To start the day, a delicious breakfast with a lot of fruits, bread and juices. If you have doubts about your route, ask Ingi, the friendly manager or the reception staff for tips, they will surely have great ones for your ride.

The cozy atmosphere of the hotel makes it great to rest after a long day of outdoor activities. For those who want to enjoy the most, there is hot tubs outside with hot water, especially when temperatures are too low! Then just ask for a wine (from the great selection) and choose a fine dinner - the restaurant uses local ingredientes according to the season and offers a mix of nordic and mediterranean cuisine.

With a structure to host friends, couples and even large groups of tourists, the hotel has 45 comfortable rooms, plus 7 luxury suites, each representing a continent. These ones have besides the great view, a jacuzzi, themed decor and even smell according to the continent.

If you wake up in the mood to relax and/or not go for any ride, do not hesitate to spend the day doing nothing there - as we did - reading a book or chatting overlooking the East-Rangá river (the largest salmon supplier of the country!)
