O que esperar de um restaurante que existe desde 1896? Com certeza só surpresas boas, afinal já imaginou quantas pessoas já passaram por ali?
O Chartier é o tipo de restaurante que é frequentado por pariesienses e normalmente isso é um bom sinal. Turistas costumam cair facilmente em pegadinhas como lugares com comida ruim e preços exorbitantes.
Depois de andar um pouquinho acabamos o encontrando. Apesar da enorme placa luminosa, uma porta pequena com uma passagem escondem o lugar. O salão é gigante, com pé direito super alto e um ar nostálgico. Dizem que o cardápio sempre foi o mesmo e são muitas opções de entrada, prato principal e sobremesa.
O cardápio todo em francês dificultou um pouco nossas escolhas, mas tivemos a sorte da garçonete que nos atendeu ter paciência de tentar nos explicar e também de sugerir alguns pratos. Acabamos comendo um abacate, uma deliciosa e simples salada de endívia com gorgonzola, uma carne com vagem e um confit de pato com batatas. De sobremesa, compota de maçã e o bolo de chocolate da casa com creme inglês.
A comida é boa e os preços inacreditáveis (é muito barato!), dá até para se sentir parisiense por uma noite.
Então, se for a Paris, pode confiar, vá ao Chartier!

After walking a bit we finally found it. Despite the huge light signal, a small door with a passage hide the place. The salon is huge, with super high ceilings and a nostalgia feeling. They say that the menu has been always the same and there are many options for starters, main courses and desserts.
The all-French menu is a bit difficult to understand and choose, but we were lucky that the waitress who served us had enough the patience to try to explain and also to suggest some dishes. We ended up eating avocado, a delicious and simple salad of endive with gorgonzola, beef with green beans and a duck confit with potatoes. For dessert, applesauce and chocolate cake with english cream.
The food is good and the prices unbelievable (it is very cheap!), you can even feel like a real parisian for one night.
