É até engraçado contar isso aqui, mas nossos roteiros em Nova Iorque eram basicamente baseados no que queriamos comer e onde. Mais do que matar a fome, nossas refeições são aventuras gastronômicas. Gostamos de descobrir novos sabores, combinações inusitadas, comer versões diferentes de nossas comidas favoritas, além é claro de reparar em cada detalhe do lugar onde estamos desde a decoração até a maneira como as coisas são servidas.
Em uma de nossas manhãs saímos atrás de panquecas. Depois de uma rápida pesquisa na internet, a Anninha descobriu a Clinton St. Baking. Tudo indicava que lá era o melhor lugar para se comer panquecas em Nova Iorque e fomos conferir. Confesso que não dei muita bola para a empolgação da Anninha e fui caminhando até lá sem saber que aquele seria um dos melhores cafés da manhã da nossa viagem!A caminhada e a fila na porta valeram cada segundo assim que meu prato com um maravilhoso omelete recheado com meu queijo favorito (de cabra!), batatas hashbrowns e torrada chegou na mesa. Tenho certeza de que a Anninha ficou satisfeita com sua escolha também: várias panquecas cobertas com blueberry.Sem dúvidas, o café da manhã da Clinton St. Baking foi especial e um ótimo começo de mais um dia!
It's funny to tell it here, but our itineraries when we were in New York were mostly based on what we wanted to eat and where. More than satisfying hunger, our meals are like gastronomic adventures. We like discovering new flavors, unusual combinations, eating different versions of our favorite food, as well as observing every detail of the place from the decoration to the way things are served.
In one of our mornings we wanted pancakes and after a quick search on the internet, Anna came across Clinton St. Baking. All the reviews indicated that it was the best place to eat pancakes in New York and we went there to check it out.
I confess that I wasn't exactly excited to go as Anna was and I walked up there without knowing that it was going to be one of the best breakfasts we had during our trip!
Every second of the walk and of the line at the door were worth it. When I saw my dish with a wonderful omelet stuffed with my favorite cheese (goat cheese!), hash browns and toasts I knew it was a good place. I'm sure Anna was pleased with her choice as well: pancakes topped with blueberries.
We have no doubt that Clinton St. Baking's breakfast was special and a great way to start another day!
