Eataly

Depois de passar alguns dias/posts na Toscana, nada melhor do que voltar para Nova Iorque com esse lugar que é um pedacinho da Itália na Grande Maçã, o Eataly. Uma mistura de mercado, restaurante, padaria, café e escola de culinária, o lugar é uma verdadeira experiência. São tantas as coisas para ver (e comer!) que ficamos perdidas por alguns minutos.

Nossa primeira vez lá foi por acaso. Estávamos passeando perto do Flatiron e resolvemos entrar nessa portinha e não imaginávamos o que nos aguardava. A portinha na verdade é um lugar enorme que vai até a outra rua. E é assim: várias prateleiras e gôndolas com produtos de todos os tipos, com balcões espalhados pelo caminho, especializados em café, doces, carnes, peixes, pães e muitas, muitas outras coisas... E ainda no meio disso tudo ainda tem os restaurantes, de pasta, de pizza, de frutos do mar.

Tome seu tempo para conhecer todos os cantinhos do Eataly, tome um café, escolha algum queijo artesanal, um pão, um azeite, almoce em algum dos restaurantes e na saída compre um vinho para acompanhar as compras mais tarde!

Diferente de outras várias dicas que já demos por aqui, o Eataly não é do tipo de lugar que turista não vai. Na verdade tem muitos por lá, mas é tão legal que os novaiorquinos também frequentam.

Talvez seja essa mistura de tudo que faz do Eataly um lugar especial!

After spending a few days/posts in Tuscany, there couldn't be a better way to return to New York than with Eataly, a little piece of Italy in the Big Apple.

A mix of market, restaurant, bakery, coffee and cooking school, this place is really an experience. There are so many things to see (and eat!) that we were lost for a few minutes.

Our first time there was by accident. We were walking near the Flatiron and decided to enter this little door and we didn't know what was expecting us. The little front door is actually a huge place that goes from one street to other. It's just like this: several shelves and aisles with products of all kinds, counters scattered along the way, each specialized in a different thing, like coffee, desserts, meats, fish, breads and many, many other things... And in the middle of it all there are still restaurants of pasta, pizza, seafood.

Take your time to explore all corners of Eataly, have a coffee, choose some artisanal cheese, a bread, an olive oil, have lunch at any of the restaurants and a buy a wine at the wineshop near the exit to drink with what you bought!

Unlike many other tips that we gave here, Eataly is not the kind of place that tourists will not go. Actually there are a lot of them there, but it's so cool that New Yorkers also attend.

Perhaps it is this mix of everything that makes Eataly special!
