Coisas d'Hana

Desde que entrou no Mercado Central de Belo Horizonte pela primeira vez, a palestina Hana Ahmad teve certeza de que queria montar uma loja ali. Mesmo sem saber falar português foi aos poucos conquistando as pessoas com seus quitutes e produtos árabes e hoje tem uma das lojas mais requisitadas e disputadas de lá.

Apesar de já fazer parte da história do Mercado, a história da Hana vai muito além do seu empório. Desde que saiu de sua cidade natal, Haifa (parte do estado de Israel), passou pelo Líbano, onde se casou e teve filhos, chegou a São Paulo fugindo da guerra até finalmente chegar a Belo Horizonte e se apaixonar pelo Mercado.

Em sua loja é possível encontrar de tudo, desde quibes, esfirras, vários tipos de doces, pastas, tudo feito com receitas e ingredientes originais, até outros produtos específicos que (até pouco tempo) provavelmente você só encontraria lá.

Trinta anos depois de chegar ao Mercado, Hana continua apaixonada pelo lugar e pela cidade e garante que todo seu sucesso foi construído através da honestidade e da confiança transmitida ao cliente.

Since the first time Hana Ahmad entered Belo Horizonte's Municipal Market, the palestinian woman, was pretty sure she wanted to set up her own shop there. At that time she didn't speak portuguese, but gradually got costumers with her arab treats and products and today she has one of the most famous stores there.

Although she is now part of the Market's history, Hana's history goes far beyond her emporium. Since she left her hometown, Haifa (part of Israel), she lived in Lebanon where she got married and had children, arrived in São Paulo fleeing from the war and then got to Belo Horizonte and fell in love by the market.

At Hana's shop you can find everything from traditional arab food made with original recipes and ingredients to other specific products you will probably only find there.Thirty years after coming to the market for the first time, Hana is still in love with the place and the city and ensures that all her success was built through the honesty and trust transmitted to the client.
